Quality since 1961

Dan Smith, founder of Darby-Dan kennels, has been actively showing and breeding German Shepherd Dogs since 1961.  Dan has finished 11 American Kennel Club champions, including one GSDCA Select, 2 Canadian Kennel Club champions and one Canadian Select.  Six of those champions, including the GSDCA Select are from Dan's own breeding.   Dan has bred 5 schutzhund titled GSDs including one dual titled CH & SchH1 dog.  

Dan has been a member of the GSDCA since 1968, USA since 1983, GSDCA Working Dog Association since 1992, and the SV in Germany since 1994.  Dan has been a board member and past president of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.  He is a co-founder and the current president of GSDC Greater York.  Dan has been a licensed judge since1987.
